On April 16, 2011, the Dubuque Phlockers celebrated our 5-year anniversary and raised $11,000 (our first "5-figure amount!) for the benefit of the Riverview Center!
The Dubuque Phlockers, in conjunction with volunteers from the Riverview Center gathered together to produce another "party with a purpose" to the delight of nearly 400 parrotheads from Dubuque and the surrounding communities. Our day began with a pre-party at the Grand Harbor Resort and then migrated to the Grand River Center located on the banks of the Mississippi River. We had so much fun, we could only help but say:
|
As the doors to our party at the Grand River Center opened, our guests were treated to the tropical, acoustical stylings of Dubuque's own Pirate Over 50 followed by Steve Cavanaugh as they set the pace for all the fun our night had in store for us. Friends meeting friends... "It's a magic kind of medicine, that no doctor could prescribe."
|
The party continued as the Cedar Island Band took the stage and delivered their sound and energy to the conclusion of the party. The dance-floor was filled and toes were tappin'...
Mixin' different oceans meetin' cousins
Listen to the drummers and the night sounds
Listen to the singers make the world go 'round
